My Iron Deficiency Nearly Killed Me -
For years I was the poster child for iron deficiency - multiple pregnancies, ridiculously heavy periods, breastfeeding, surgeries. I struggled with overwhelming fatigue, massive hair loss, depression, heart palpitations, and craved ice like it was going out of style!
Desperate to feel better, I tried everything - iron pills, nasty liquids - taking them 5-6 times per day (which was a terrible idea & I don't recommend!), but they just made me feel miserable and my iron levels didn't improve.
I received a massive blood transfusion and wound up in the ICU after delivering twins, endured months of dangerous iron infusions, and still felt like I was dying.
There had to be a better way to heal my body.
On a mission to take back my health, I spent years and hundreds of hours, digging into the scientific research that has emerged about iron.
